Thank you Manwich. Actually you gave me the opposite answer to what I needed, but since I’d already tried the one...

Just a standard data disc with MP3's worked. Feel kinda stupid now... but hey I’ve never bothered with CD’s much. Never had any need.

Whatever the method, the important part is you solved the issue. I think I’ve had customers ask about that same issue at the dealership. If you know anyone with an Audi/VW product that accepts SD cards there is an issue with card size and you are required to partition the music (mp3 ony) into folders. In my 2008 you can only use two 2gb cards and must use at least 3 folders and I’ve found it works with folders divided about equally with a bit over 600kb in each. Had issues finding the info for doing this, searched the web for hours, finally finding hints on forums. Its a pain how many procedures like this from all manufacturers isn’t laid simpler. We had a customer last week trying to get Apple Carplay to work in his new Silverado but service and sales couldn’t ever figure it out. They had done it before on some trucks however his was properly equipt but still wouldn’t configure.
